• This is one of the greatest barriers you’ll overcome, as soon as you realize that no one else can control your emotions, place you in a bad situation, or blame anyone else, you’ve taken the power away from uncertainty.
• Uncertainty is one of our greatest enemies.
• The opposite of uncertainty is NOT control… It’s boundaries.
Your willingness to lean into discomfort (to be vulnerable) is your strength. You’re walking into that fog, it’s not coming after you. You are in control by allowing yourself to be vulnerable.
• With the above as tools, you can better understand why you need to create boundaries. There will always be people like (that one person or that scenario), and they will always be who & what they are… and that’s ok. It’s not their responsibility to look after your emotions, it’s yours.
• People & scenarios will always push as far as they can, but we let them cross that line or not, so it’s important that we define what those boundaries are. (Examples of this later on)
• All this is going to be uncomfortable, unchartered territory and you’ll feel it in your stomach. You’re not meant to find the answer right away, you’re meant to think about it over days, weeks, months.
• Saying no, asking for space, disagreeing, and being honest with yourself are uncomfortable at first, but just look back at situations where you now know having chosen discomfort then would have saved you regret afterwards.
